In Zambia, classrooms echo with both promise and challenge. Across cities and villages, children sit on wooden benches, sometimes under trees, driven by a hunger for knowledge that no lack of resources can silence. Yet for many families, education remains fragile — weighed down by poverty, limited school infrastructure, and unequal access between rural and urban areas.
Too many children still walk long distances to school, some without books, uniforms, or even a daily meal. Girls, in particular, face cultural and economic barriers that often cut short their education. For those who make it to the classroom, the dedication of teachers is inspiring — but resources are stretched, and opportunities beyond the classroom can feel out of reach.
At the Zyaambo Cosmas Community Initiative (ZCCI), we see education as the key to opportunity and dignity. Our work focuses on ensuring that learning is not a privilege for a few, but a right for all. Through community-driven projects, we support children and families to overcome barriers, while empowering teachers and schools to provide quality education.

Zambia’s future lies in the dreams of its young people. From the villages near Mongu to the bustling schools of Lusaka, each child who learns to read, solve, or create represents a step toward a brighter tomorrow. Focus Areas in Education
- Access for All: Supporting scholarships, uniforms, and school supplies so children can attend and stay in school.
- Girls’ Education: Empowering girls with mentorship, resources, and safe spaces to pursue learning without fear or barriers.
- Community Literacy: Creating reading circles and adult literacy programs to extend the gift of knowledge beyond the classroom.
