Rehabilitation works are currently underway at Makonkoto School to restore the old classroom block and improve the learning environment for pupils. It is a necessary task, and one best carried forward through shared effort and cooperation.
Following concerns raised by the Parent–Teacher Committee regarding the condition of the classroom block and increasing enrolment, I stepped in to support the work already being undertaken by the community.
Makonkoto School holds personal significance for me, as it forms part of my early education. I attended Grades 6 and 7 at the school, and that connection carries with it a sense of responsibility to respond in a practical way whenever the school and community identify a need.
To strengthen the ongoing rehabilitation works, I contributed ten bags of cement, complementing the materials and labour mobilised by parents and community members. This contribution forms part of a collective response built on cooperation, shared responsibility, and commitment to our children’s education.
I believe strong schools are sustained through consistency, accountability, and active community involvement. Every contribution—whether large or small—plays a role in creating safe, supportive learning environments for learners.
Progress is built when action leads quietly and responsibility is shared.
