Zambia’s Breakthrough
For years, we’ve watched our farmers struggle, waiting for imported fertilizer that came late or cost too much. We’ve seen how this affected production, how families worked hard but earned very little, and how opportunities always seemed just out of reach. It has been a long journey filled with patience, resilience, and hope.
But today, Zambia has turned a corner. The commissioning of the Urea Fertilizer Plant and the 85MW Power Generation Plant by United Capital Fertilizer is more than just an industrial milestone, it’s a national victory. Under the leadership of President Hakainde Hichilema, this marks a new chapter for our country. It shows that when we believe in ourselves and invest in our own capacity, we can truly change our story.
With fertilizer now being produced locally, farmers will no longer have to rely on costly imports. Inputs will become more affordable, crop yields will improve, and food security will be strengthened. The new power plant will bring more reliable electricity to support homes, farms, and industries helping businesses grow and creating jobs for thousands of Zambians
To the youth and women in Sinazongwe and across the country, this is your time. Secure land, farm with purpose, and build something that lasts. Use these new opportunities in fertilizer and energy to change your lives and uplift our communities.
The opportunities that once felt far away are now within our reach. This breakthrough is a story of hope, hard work, and national pride. A reminds us that Zambia is rising, and that progress belongs to every one of us.
